PALO ALTO, Calif. — Revolutionary new technology to fill the entire house with weed vapor and get everyone high in every room, which had an initial funding goal of $200,000, has reached $9.6 million in its first afternoon on Kickstarter.
“It’s basically like when you wear those gas mask bong things but it’s plugged into the central air conditioning of the house,” said inventor and CEO Sam Lefler. “I planned a modest budget online but I guess people are into the idea — who knew?!”
One of the donors, Carly Bennet, was initially confused, thinking she was just buying the product, but then left the payment because the idea is “brilliant,” as she says.
“I need it immediately! Imagine smoking without having to smoke. Imagine just sitting in your living room, hanging out, and a billow of weed smoke flutters down from the ceiling vents and suddenly you’re smoked up, right?” she explained, barely able to maintain her excitement. “Once this is installed I’ll never go back to traditional smoking again!”
Kickstarter CEO Aziz Hasan, initially against having drug-related products on the site, put out an official statement on the matter, saying, “We generally don’t allow cannabis-adjacent products, but we are making an exception in this case because the product just sounds so sick, like, I gotta see this!”
