EUREKA, Calif. — The popular cannabis strain Durban Poison claimed today that it wanted no gifts for Father’s Day this year, other than a nice phone call from its celebrity offspring, GSC.
“OG Kush and I never dreamed GSC would become so famous all over the world. For us, she’ll always be our little Girl Scout Cookies,” said Poison, a middle-aged strain that immigrated to the United States from South Africa in the 1970s. “The only gift I need for Father’s Day is to know she’s living her best life, getting millions of people just absolutely blasted out of their fucking minds. I’m the proudest sativa in the world.”
When reached for comment, GSC heaped praise on her father.
“My dad is just being modest. He taught me everything I know. Is he a little hyper sometimes? Yeah,” she said with a laugh, “but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
The father and daughter agreed to speak sometime in the morning on Sunday, ensuring that GSC would still make her afternoon appointment with some cousins at a Father’s Day party.
